King's Ransom

Tricky face and seam climbing leads past two tightly spaced bolts. Follow jugs up dubious looking rock to obtain a glorious pocket. A challenging rightward traverse leads to a less-than-vertical, near-slab finish.

King's Ransom is a mid-tier route with varied gym-like movement. The slab finish is unlike anything at the Chessman area. Unfortunately the short section of questionable rock slightly sours the experience.

King's Ransom is located on the King formation. To the left is the mixed route King's Ransom; to the right is the sport route The Fool's Gambit. It is the leftmost of four densely packed sport routes.
