Montezuma's Head
Description
[Edit]This free-standing tower sits about four miles east of Highway 85 and roughly 10 miles to the north of the park visitor center. At least four routes appear to have been done up the tower.Similar adventure climbing peaks in southern Arizona are Weaver's Needle in the Superstition Mountains and the west face of Signal Peak in the Kofa Mountains near Yuma (see https://www.mountainproject.com/route/109628681/rusty-baillie-route).Check in at the park Visitor Center and ask to speak with a law enforcement ranger about possible criminal activity in the vicinity of Montezuma's Head. Request that the Border Patrol be notified of your climbing itinerary so you are not mistaken for smugglers.
