Description
Easy climbing from the trail leads to a sandy ledge where the routes diverge. Follow the right-diagonalling crack through some heady moves. I followed the crack past an easy-looking crack and climbed up a crack on the edge of the cliff. The Ruckman guide indicates that the route heads straight up just before the easy-looking crack and pulls the roof above through a V-shaped groove. Longer than most Ferguson climbs, this route wore out my feet. True to its name, Aorta gets your blood flowing. Good warmup.
Location
All routes on the Heart Wall start underneath the big right-facing dihedral. Aorta follows the right-diagonalling crack. Walk off to the west (between the Heart and Guano Walls.
Protection
Standard rack, emphasis on larger cams. No fixed gear, and no anchors at top, sling any of the horns.
