Rooftop Seating
Description
A lonely corner that rarely sees traffic. This problem punches through the roof that marks the start of Maverick 5.9+, which traverse right, in the Mt. Erie Climbing Guide - 2nd edition. Start low with two hands on the shelf and maneuver through opposing side pulls to reach over the roof onto better holds. After a strenuous mantle, power up the wall and burst through 15 feet of easier climbing up a large flake. Commit to the lichen covered top out and crack a cold one! Super fun!! If this start has been previously climbed, please reach out and I will update the page. FA is based on amount of cleaning and friable rock while developing the problem. Two pads is suggested - but one will suffice if you are comfortable at the grade.
Location
Hike up from the lower parking area and head East on 247. Take a hard left to obtain the East Buttress Trail past the turn to Snag Buttress (You should pass a clearing with a large house on your right). Continue hiking past the lower Pigeon Stool group and climb the steep trail up until you see the roof on your right. A large, protruding fin marks the spot on the wall where this problem is located.
Protection
