Description
A too-often-overlooked arete that has much the same feel as PK's more traveled aretes (e.g. Exuberance) at a more moderate grade. If the starting corner is wet* you can start the route on the right-side ledge 15 feet up. * Even when the mossy wall is wet, the edge you layback on is likely to be dry, and there's great friction on this.
Location
Left end of Little Havana wall. Most easily approached from the trail that leads to the Big Slab/Headbangers area. Start in the mossy, right-facing corner; hand traverse right several feet to the arete; climb the left side of that to the top.
Protection
Groundfall from the crux so this is for Toprope. There's a birch tree and slingable boulder on the flat top, just a couple steps off the trail that leads across the cliff top. The pitch pine on the ledge is too far left to be useful, but there's a big one 30 feet straight away along the trail.
