Shakedown Street

This is a direct route from the ground to the rappel tree and was climbed as a "shakedown" in anticipation of future, harder routes on this rock. From below the rappel tree, climb up broken 4th class ledges which gradually steepen. Climb through a vertical black section below and left of the dead tree (the short crux). This rock is black because of water that runs down it, so some of the holds are slippery. The pro is great and the moves interesting, but the "hard" part is rather short. Rap from the tree.

It climbs straight up from the bottom of the cliff, starting just left of the dead rappel tree, through the black rocks, then to the tree.

A handful of small-to-medium cams will sufice. A couple slings are nice to avoid rope drag.
