Pulsating Core
Description
A super steep classic overhang with large sloping pinches and rails. Stand start with the right hand on a large horizontal rail and the left hand on the large sloping pinch found on the arete. Choose your jug foot wisely and make a few hard moves up to more sloping holds before taking a massive foot cut or figuring out some tricky beta. A huck for the lip gains a massive jug and an easy topout.
Location
This classic is found facing the main trail that leads up to Waimea, but it is barely visible from the trail due to a small boulder in the line of sight. From the trail intersection (the one that forks to Bonsai and Waimea) or "Bobby's Problem". Hike 10 yards up the hill then take the faint diagonal trail that veers out left. Follow this up past a decent sized boulder and do a few tricky steps up onto a small rock. Once on top of this rock, "Pulsating Core" and the Core Cluster will be directly in front of you.
Another method to approach this area is to hike up to the Block Boulder, then around the backside and 10 yards up the hill and slightly right.
Protection
4 pads. The landing is fairly good, but when holding the swing you can get ejected.
