Description

An excellent trad line with a huge variety of styles and features--a hand-crack roof, a corner, knobby face climbing and a finishing ride on the edge of an arete. Crank and jam through initial overhangs. Grapple over a pillar then enjoy a clean dihedral. Escape right around little overhang, then move back left up a great face. Finish just right of arete to anchors at lip. Finishes with nice views high over Soddy Gorge and up Deep Creek.

Location

Start among washing machine sized blocks, under short roof, split by a hand crack, about 15' up; above that you should see a white corner. A big chestnut oak might obscure the rest of the view. This is just climber's right of where the wall makes a 90 degree turn up hill to the hidden meadow--the 'lorax hole'. And this is climbers'-left of Departure 29 roofs, which are about 50' climbers'-right.

Protection

Normal Sunset or T Wall rack up to #3. Doubles up to #2 will provide full coverage. Take some long slings to extend gear.
