My Tighie

My Tighie is a not so obvious knife ridge on the South face of West Partner Peak. The route goes up this ridge until it hits the ridge dividing the Booth and Pitkin drainages. Once on the main ridge, work up and around a series of fun spires to the final neat summit pillar. This route was established solo, so pitches and pro are just a matter of your comfort level - a standard alpine rack and rope will be sufficient. Only one short pitch rates 5.6, the rest is exposed 5th class scrambling. Super neat summit!

Take the Booth Creek trail from East Vail. Right before the final climb into the Booth Lake tarn, go right into a small bowl at the base of West Partner. The route is the first knife ridge on the right just before the bowl proper.

Standard alpine rack, no big stuff.
