Description
The wall's titular route, Funky Buddha tackles the center of the vertical headwall past Buddha's bellybutton (the large, round hueco just above the slab). Smear your way up some waterpolished divots to a rest in the hueco. From there, edge, smear, and sidepull your way up some of Riggins' best limestone edges. Expect to feel a little air between your knees above the bolts. Thought-provoking and a bit pumpy.
Location
Funky Buddha climbs the plumb line up the center of its namesake wall. Begin by climbing the short, fixed rope up a mossy slab, about ten feet downhill from the large, needleless pine tree. Clip your first bolt about 10 feet right of the top of the fixed line, and trend slightly left into an almost body-size hueco ("Buddha's bellybutton"). From the hueco, the route fires up the headwall to its highest point. Note: Funky Buddha shares its third bolt with Big Stake, the route trending right up the same headwall.
Protection
9 bolts to chains, usually with fixed carabiners.
