The McCord

Description

Start on the smoothest face on this wall between the right corner and the easier cracks and broken rocks to the left. When you reach the wide ledge just below the summit rocks, decide whether to bail out to the left, or climb straight up the lake-facing summit blocks to the top.

Location

Find the separate small wall about half-way between the Tomahawk wall proper and the Tomahawk Rock. Either angle your way down and north from the East Bluff trail near Tomahawk Rock, or angle your way up and south from the bottom of the small wall. The start of the McCord is guarded by a decent sized birch tree and a very small pine.

Protection

It's a tricky toprope setup - either climb to the top of the rock, or thow your anchor over the top, or set the anchor lower where it is easier to reach. The top rock of The McCord can be seen from the East Bluff trail. It's about 50 ft north of and a bit farther from the trail than the Tomahawk Rock.
