LAR's Arete

Description

Start on a great incut crimp for the right hand, and left hand on a sidepull, pull onto glassy feet and climb the tall overhanging arete with polished crimps down low, grab the arete and rock onto the slab, making delicate moves high off the deck.

The landing for this boulder isnt the best. Theres a large ledge that you can fill with pads under the face, but after rocking around the arete and committing to the slab, you are exposed over a large rocky pit.

Id highly recommend checking out the slab on rope, theres a large crack at the top of the boulder that takes good gear (#1, #2, #3 C4) and another smaller crack that can be used as a directional (#.5 C4)

A direct line might go, staying on the overhanging face and slapping up the arete.

Location

First main boulder in the drainage, cant miss it.

Protection

Crash pads and spotters
