Description

Purity Ring is an absolutely classic 45 degree overhanging thin hands to ringlocks crack. Sit start with a left thin handjam and right hand fingerstack. Work your way up utilizing paddle hands, fingerstacks, and ringlocks. About halfway up, the crack jogs slightly right and narrows where you will have to fire on all cylinders for the next 8 or so feet. This climb doesn't let up until both of your feet are over the lip of the overhang. The rest of the climb is easy and enjoyable 5.4 fingercrack to the top.

It was named for the pureness of the ringlocks on this line - there are no feet or crimps outside of the crack.

Location

Follow the approach from the previous, and keep an eye out on your left as you head up the trail. There will be an obvious outcropping of boulders in a gully - this one has a crack cleaving the boulder in half and is about 10 feet off the trail.

The GPS coordinates are approximately: 39.419796, -105.262623.

Protection

At least 4 pads and a spotter. Helmet optional.
