I wouldn't recommend this route for practicing placing gear. I would stick to The Other White Meat if your just starting out placing gear. Despite the slightly harder rating its easier to place gear. This is one is worth doing if you've done any of the others as a top rope if your with a newer group.

Small gear or top rope to the common anchor.
